Paul Onuachu used his height to good effect as his two headers gave Danish champions Midtjylland a 2-0 victory over The New Saints at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Scott Ruscoe’s side fought well but were undone by two first half corners, both of which were dispatched by the tall forward.

The first on nine minutes came after both sides had made a bright start to the game, Onuachu rising highest to head home Jakob Poulsen's corner.

Saints then went close as Jamie Mullan and Dean Ebbe combined well, with the former’s eventual low cross being palmed away by Jesper Hansen just before a Saints boot could connect with the ball.

The second goal seemed to be the killer though. Poulsen again delivered a dangerous corner, this time onto the head of Bubacarr Sanneh. He headed back across goal, and Onuachu was there to head home the second.

Saints had a couple of half chances after the break, but it's the visitors who are in command going into next week's return leg.
