Ex-Old Gold Thomas hands Chesterfield First Victory

In a five goal thriller in Haverfordwest, former Carmarthen goal ace Danny Thomas was a two-goal hero for the hosts, as manager Gavin Chesterfield gained his first win as County boss in his maiden game at the Bridge Meadow.

County scored just before the break to have the upper hand in the West Wales derby, having come from a goal behind. Two long-serving players grabbed the opening goals as Carmarthen's Sasha Walters gave the visitors the lead on 16 minutes, only for County striker Jack Christopher to restore parity seven minutes later. Then, just a minute before the interval, Thomas scored his first to make it 2-1 to the Bluebirds.

Ex-County forward Tim Hicks then equalised for the Old Gold, but it was Thomas who had the last laugh with the decisive strike to send County level with Bala on eleven points at the bottom.
