The New Saints continued their remarkable home form to record an eighth successive home win, without conceeding a goal and they have now netted 32 times in those games.
The Saints beat Aberystwyth Town four nil thanks to goals from Mike Wilde, Matty Williams, Alex Darlington and Greg Draper.
Wilde opened the scoring ten minutes before half time and two quick fire goals from Williams and Darlington ensured the victory. Substitute Draper added a fourth with a close range header as TNS extended their lead at the top of the table.
The Saints started well with a succession of corners and after winning a third corner in row, Wilde was superbly denied by Mike Lewis. Darlington whipped in a fantastic cross from the edge of the box but the diving Wilde was somehow thwarted by a brilliant stop from the visiting goalkeeper.
TNS continued to keep the ball but on the 20 minute mark, Aberystwyth Town went close to breaking the deadlock. Stuart Fraser found space in the box and after being pressured, he curled his effort just over the bar.
With 36 minutes gone, TNS opened the scoring. Wilde calmly headed in against the post to give his side a deserved lead. The former Chester City forward headed in from eight yards out, leaving Lewis rooted.
Minutes before half time, Chris Jones hit a powerful shot into the side netting. The former Swansea City man controlled the ball in the box and was unlucky, after his shot narrowly missed the target.
Ten minutes into the second half, Williams doubled the advantage. Darlington wonderfully dribbled past a couple of Aberystwyth Town defenders before finding Williams, who despite having his shot deflected, was able to watch his shot trickle past Lewis.
A minute later it was three. Darlington was the first player to react to a loose ball in the box and the former Wrexham man made no mistake as he smashed in an unstoppable strike, to ensure that The Saints would continue a more than impressive home record this season.
Shortly after Sam Finley magnificently dribbled past a number of defenders before playing Jones in and once again Lewis thwarted The Saints. Jones took his time before curling an effort in to the top corner, only for Lewis to palm it away.
Substitute Greg Draper then added a fourth after he headed in a cross from fellow substitute, Jamie Mullan. The TNS number nine easily converted from close range to add to his tally of nine goals this season, to equal Wilde at the top of the League's goalscoring chart
Draper then attempted to become a provider and after wonderfully picking out Darlington, the TNS number 20 was unlucky to have his shot cleared off the line.
Chris Marriott and Finley had long range efforts but Draper’s goal was the last of the game as TNS ran out comfortable winners.
