Late comeback from Kosovans stun Saints

The New Saints have it all to do out in Kosovo next week after conceding two late goals in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League QR1 match against KF Feronikeli.

After a cagey first half of few chances, Saints took the lead shortly after the restart, Greg Draper converting from the penalty spot after being brought down in the box.

A more open game followed, with both sides looking sharper than they had before the break. Mevlan Zeka forced a save out of Paul Harrison for the visitors, while Draper came close to doubling his tally after latching onto a through ball, only to be flagged offside.

It was another Saints stalwart, Aeron Edwards, who did eventually double the lead, prodding home from close range in the Feronikeli box from a corner that Joash Nembhard headed into his path.

That looked to have sealed it, but Zeka pulled one back with two minutes to play, beating Keston Davies to a cross and heading in from seven yards, before Simon Spender was penalised for handball in the Saints' box in additional time.

Fazilu converted from the spot, leaving the tie on a knife-edge ahead of the return leg.
