Saints announce new sponsorship deal

The New Saints of Oswestry Town have today announced a minimum two-year sponsorship deal with Recycling UK Limited.

The deal, which includes shirt and prime pitch-side sponsorship using the branding RUKGROUP.COM is a huge boost for the Oswestry-based club.

The investment will help to financially secure the Welsh Premier League side and comes at a time where the Saints are reigning champions of the league and about to enter into the Champions League qualifying rounds.

This is the first football sponsorship deal to be entered into by Recycling UK Limited, which has its UK head office near Tarporley, Cheshire. The group processes over 300,000 tonnes of waste paper, plastic and surplus materials each year throughout the UK and sells the material worldwide. It also owns local well-known recycling company Oswestry Waste Paper Ltd, which it acquired in March 2012 and has trading offices in Ireland and Mumbai, India.

Announcing the agreement, which has been signed for an undisclosed amount, Saints Chairman Mike Harris, said: “We’re delighted to have a new sponsor on board. This is a fantastic opportunity, both for the club and Recycling UK. Previous sponsors have seen significant growth while they have been with us and we expect them to benefit in the same way.”

Neil Clarke, Managing Director of the Recycling UK Ltd Group commented: “We are extremely pleased and proud to connect our group of companies with The New Saints and its supporters. We hope to increase awareness of our brand in Wales and beyond. Being associated with the most successful and well known football club in the Welsh Premier League is a great way for us to do this.”

The deal was brokered by Irish-based Halpin Sport Sponsorship (www.halpinsportsponsorship.com).
