The four JD Welsh Premier League sides competing in Europe learnt their Qualifying Round 1 fates this afternoon at UEFA HQ in Nyon.
The New Saints will face the winners of the UCL Preliminary Round mini-tournament, which takes place in Kosovo next week. In the two semi-finals next Tuesday (25th) Kosovan champions Feronikeli play Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar, while
Tre Penne from San Marion meet Andorran side FC Santa Coloma. The two winners then meet in Friday's final, with the winner of that game meeting Saints.
The thirteen-time JDWPL champions are at home for the first leg and away for the return leg.
In the UEFA Europa League QR1 draw, Connah's Quay Nomads were handed an all-Celtic tie against Scottish side Kilmarnock. Killie finished third in the Scottish Premiership last season, and will be out to impress as they return to European football for the first time since 2001.
Barry Town United will play FK Haugesund, should they beat Cliftonville in the Preliminary Round. Haugesund's first ever tie in Europe was against Airbus UK Broughton back in 2014-15, the Norwegian side winning 3-2 on aggregate. This will be their third European campaign, having finished fourth in the 2018 Eliteserien table. They are eighth in the current standings.
Cork City meanwhile are the prize for Cardiff Met if they win their Preliminary Round tie against Progres. Cork finished second in the 2018 LOI Premier Division, but currently sit seventh in this season's table. They are noted for providing the first opposition for a Welsh side in the UEFA Champions League, knocking Cwmbran Town out on away goals after the tie finished 4-4 on aggregate.
